Paris Hilton Spotted With MySpace CEO
TechCrunch is sounding more like GossipCrunch this morning as they report news that Paris Hilton has been spotted hanging out with MySpace cofounder and CEO Chris DeWolfe.
TMZTechCrunch also says a source tells them the two are dating. That's possible but it could also be that Paris Hilton is just nagging DeWolfe for some extra security for her private MySpace photos that always seem to get exposed.
TechPerezHiltonCrunch writes that "This is a brilliant marketing move for MySpace (or for Hilton?)." That would be MySpace because Paris doesn't need the help of a MySpace CEO to keep her celebrity star alive. She's doing quite well on her own and keeping Funny or Die alive along the way. Wired says her recent "Paris for President" has struck viral gold with over 6.2 million views already. Here's hoping she does a series of these videos because the first one was pretty funny.
Back to whether the two are actually dating - Celebuzz blogs that Paris Hilton's #1 friend on MySpace is MySpace CEO Chris DeWolfe. However, they are just being cute. If you look at Paris Hilton's MySpace page her #1 friend is actually Benji Madden - her supposed boyfriend. So Paris Hilton is either not dating DeWolfe or Benji is about to get really hurt.

Paris Hilton Slams Media in Blog Post
 Paris Hilton is using her MySpace blog to counter stories about her she says are not true. Paris writes that, "These stories have gotten out of control and I want to clear some things up." In her latest post titled "Sick of Rumors," Paris says a New York Post story that she tried to buy a dog from a pet store to use in a photo shoot is false.
Hi guys, hope you all had a great weekend! I just shot the finale for my BFF show and I can't wait for you all to see it...I'll let you all know when it premieres, it's going to be amazing and everyone did such an incredible job.
I wanted to let you know that I've been getting messages and reading stories about an incident that supposedly happened with me and a pet store: I was catching up on news last week only to read a story about me walking by some puppies for sale, and demanding that I be given a Yorkie puppy to be an accessory for a photo shoot. These stories have gotten out of control and I want to clear some things up-
I wasn't looking for a new pet, I wasn't even at a photo shoot that day, (I was down the street at Benji's DCMA clothing store) and I actually have a Yorkie puppy. I love animals and the cruel things people say are not acceptable. Puppies are not accessories or toys and I love my own pets dearly--I treat them as if they were my children. Of course I support pet adoption from shelters, and I made sure that my BFF show involved a local one to spread the word about how these animals need loving owners. So it is sad that someone felt the need to invent a story about me throwing a fit for a dog that would "go with my outfit."
I have no idea where people come up with these stories and they are spreading to so many news outlets that I just have to speak my mind and clear things up, especially with my fans. I love you all and appreciate your messages, as always.

Paris Hilton has 177,066 friends on her MySpace site. That's a pretty large group to turn to if you need to correct a story you think is false or misleading. Paris Hilton should really also set up a Twitter page to farther expand her reach.

Paris Hilton Blogs About Responsible Driving
 Paris Hilton has blogged (hat tip Chicago Tribune) a July 4th holiday safety tip for fans. Paris writes, "remember to be responsible and have a designated driver!"
Hey everyone! I'm back from my much needed vacation in Maui. It was so beautiful and relaxing. But its good to be home again. I just want to thank you all for your letters of love and support. I am doing my best to respond to each and every one with the letter I wrote--that message was for fans like you who have supported me through it all.
I wanted to let you all know that I'm going to be updating my myspace and writing in more cause I haven't done it in awhile. The past month has inspired me to move forward with some exciting new projects, so I will keep you all posted.
Happy 4th of July everyone, and remember to be responsible and have a designated driver! Just looking out for you all. I love you and have an amazing summer!

Paris Hilton was given a much longer jail sentence than most people serve for similar crimes. The Tribune writes that "the notorious party girl has since touted a new beginning, one that she says won't include going out as much." It sounds like she is trying to stick to that promise although it hasn't been very long she left the county jail. Paris is wise to use her blog as a way to communicate with fans. If she blogs the right things she might also be able improve some people's negative opinion of her. It couldn't hurt.

YouTube Gets in Bed With Paris Hilton
 YouTube.com has kicked off a new advertising scheme called Brand Channel. Brand Channels will begin with a Warner Bros. Records promotion for Paris Hilton's new record that includes a Paris Hilton Channel. You can see the first video from the Paris Hilton Channel here. Reuters reports that the Paris Hilton Channel is sponsored by Fox's Prison Break.
YouTube will help drive traffic to the Brand Channels it sells, and the channels might have sponsors, as is the case with the Paris Hilton Channel, sponsored by Fox's "Prison Break."
The second initiative that officially rolls out Tuesday actually began nine days ago and is a platform that YouTube calls participatory video ads (PVAs).
YouTube co-founder and CEO Chad Hurley said the first PVA was for the Weinstein Co.'s current movie release "Pulse." The PVA appeared as a video commercial on the YouTube home page that users could rate, share and comment on -- in other words, do whatever they do with the usual fare they find on the site. The ads also earn "most viewed," "most discussed" and "top favorite" status just as regular YouTube content does.
The "Pulse" ad was viewed 900,000 times in four days, Hurley said. By comparison, all-time YouTube champ "Evolution of Dance" -- a six-minute video from Judson Laipply, a motivational speaker from Cleveland -- boasts 29 million views.
It's about time YouTube came up with a money making plan. They will need it to overcome their high bandwidth bills. The Financial Times is also covering the YouTube Paris Hilton news.
