Blogger Greg Linden Discovers Google Drive Plans

Blogger Greg Linden recently found and blogged about Google's plans for infinite storage that were contained in some materials presented at Google analyst day. TechCrunch says Google removed the materials from the presentation and replaced them with modified documents after Linden blogged about them.

However, the slides discussing Google Drive were quickly taken down by Google and replaced with a sterilized version after entrepreneur and blogger Greg Linden noted the Google Drive information and blogged about it.

Greg did not retain a copy of the original, but readers of his blog did and posted the original content in the comments to Greg's post.

Tomy Lorsch was one of Greg's readers who kept a copy of the materials. The BBC reports that Google declined to comment on the slide notes Linden discovered.

Google declined to comment on the reports but said the slide notes had now been deleted.

In the notes, chief executive Eric Schmidt reportedly said Google's aim was to "store 100%" of users' information.

The notes said: "With infinite storage, we can house all user files, including e-mails, web history, pictures, bookmarks, etc; and make it accessible from anywhere (any device, any platform, etc)."

Greg Linden wrote that slide #20 says that Google plans to "get all the worlds information, not just some."
