Forbes is
reporting that AOL is closing about 30 sites following its post-Huffpo acquisition round of layoffs.
Forbes says some of the brands are being absorbed into The Huffington Post or other AOL sites.
Among those to be absorbed are Politics Daily (folded into HuffPost Politics), Walletpop (folded into Daily Finance), Urlesque (folded into HuffPost Comedy), Luxist (folded into Stylelist) and TV Squad (folded into AOL TV).
Some of the blogs will become Huffpo subheadings. AOL is trying to consolidate its properties and remove duplication, but they are losing some goods brands and some great writers while they do it. Other posts about AOL closing brands can be found
